- 1949 Stavros Hatzioannou was born in Athens, where he still lives and works.
- 1967-70 Studied Graphic Arts at Athens’ Technological Institute under the guidance of teachers like P. Gravalos, E. Dekoulakos, P. Katsoulidis, D. Mitaras and A. Tassos.
- 1970-72 Studied Scenography, Decoration and Advertisement at the School of Fine Arts of the National Technical University of Athens, under V. Vasiliadis.
- 1968 He won the 2nd prize for poster at the Panhellenic Painting Exhibition.
- 1969 He won a distinction for poster at the Panhellenic Painting Exhibition.
- 1970 He won the 1st prize for poster during the admission’s exams at the School of Fine Arts.
- 1972 He won the 1st prize for poster when he graduated the School of Fine Arts.
